Considering a New Home for Our Society

New Building 2.png Hall.png

As our membership continues to grow, the Committee has been discussing the possibility of moving from our current hall to a venue better suited to our needs.

Over the years, members have raised a number of concerns with our present location, including:

  • Limited parking close to the hall

  • Council-imposed time limits on available parking

  • Member safety when walking longer distances at night

  • Insufficient space for large auctions

  • Lack of additional space for workshops and other activities

This is only a starting point, and we expect the list of considerations to expand as we gather feedback from members.

To keep everyone informed, this Blog will provide regular updates on the Committee’s discussions and actions as we explore options for the future.

Current Agenda

  1. Obtain a professional valuation of our current property at 29 Grant Street, Clifton Hill.

  2. Create a Member Location Map by suburb to understand where our members are based across Melbourne.

  3. Consult with members through club meetings, our dedicated Member Jungle chat page, and other feedback channels.

  4. Develop a comprehensive list of requirements for any potential new venue, including:

    • Location and accessibility

    • Parking availability

    • Public transport access

    • Building size and layout

    • Catering facilities

    • Workshop and event spaces

    • Other essential amenities
