ASOV - Monthly Meeting August 2025 - Chris Lamin
Chris Lamin from Middle Creek Farm will be showcasing ‘Breeding endangered Dwarf Galaxias and the essential role of live feeds in the hatchery’
Middle Creek Farm:
Middle Creek Farm is a small hatchery specialising in the captive breeding of endangered and critically endangered small bodied natives for conservation projects. Once successful, these species are then available not only for conservation, but for private aquariums and ponds. These include Southern, Western and Yarra Pygmy Perch, Southern Purple Spotted Gudgeon (Zombie fish), Murray River Rainbows, Honey Blue Eyes, Redfinned Blue eyes, Dwarf and Little Galaxias and Olive Perchlets.
Live Food:
With so many different fish species, live food production is a critical part of our daily hatchery operations, starting with green water cultures through to earth worms and lots of things in between! These foods are essential for healthy, productive adults and fry.
