🎤 GUEST SPEAKER – DR MATTHEW McGEE

A PRACTICAL GUIDE TO RAISING ZOMBIE FISH

What does it take to successfully maintain rare and threatened fish species in aquariums over many generations—and how can everyday aquarium hobbyists contribute?

Dr Matthew McGee is a laboratory head at Monash University, Vice President of ANGFA Victoria, and a member of both the Aquarium Society of Victoria and the Eastern Districts Aquarium Society.

Matt’s research focuses on genetics, with particular emphasis on threatened Australian fishes. Before arriving in Australia, he worked in Switzerland studying African cichlids and also undertook fieldwork in Uganda’s Lake Victoria and its surrounding satellite lakes.

In this fascinating presentation, Matt will explain how principles used in professional conservation breeding programs can also be applied by aquarium hobbyists.

Matt will discuss:
